Cat5e Cable for a Range of Devices

Cat5e is a type of cable, used for establishing a network or we can say in Ethernet. It can also be used in Telephone lines, ATM's and video. Cabling help makes our network strong and reliable. This type of cabling is used by many organizations, companies and in institution for establishing their network as it is a reliable type of cable. Cat5e is the main choice for setting a network. Cat5e cable can transmit data at speeds up to about one gigabyte per second.  Many computer networks rely on cables for transmitting information to electronic devices within their local area network (LAN). The type of cabling depends on the topology, protocol and size of the network.

Cat5e is unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables, mean they consist of four pairs of wires that are twisted a different number of times per inch. The method of twisting used for eliminating noise interference from other electrical devices. It means more tightly twisted an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable, the higher the rate of transmission. These cables are used with RJ-45 connectors which are generally used in networking and telephone lines. Cat5e cable is used for Ethernet cabling due to its high signal integrity. Cat5e is capable of handling networks that generate up to 1,000 megabits of information per second (mbps). Cat5e cables also have a test rating of 350 megahertz (MHz), means it is capable of transmitting data at a speed of one gigabyte. It is also used for connecting computers or game systems to a switch or router.

While buying a cat5e cable we should choose only the required length for our cat 5 cables. Next we should check to see that your cable meets the standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for efficiency and durability. ANSI is a standard like ISI that is a standard for electrical goods. ANSI provides cables a standard which ensures the customers about the quality of the cables. It is little expensive, but ensures more efficient working. Good quality of cabling results in quality of output.

It is important to design the data system with the future requirements in mind. If the system will have to be upgraded in the foreseeable future to handle higher frequencies, it is usually much more costly when labor charges are considered. Therefore the level of cable should be higher as required in the future, on the initial installation.
