Ok, one way to get started is to go to clickbank and pick a product you would like to promote. Now open your office word and write an article about that topic. If you are not a writer, go to a site called fiverr.com. You can get someone to write a good article for you for five dollars!

Once you have your article, go to articlesbase.com and submit your article with a link in your resource box. Remember to pick a title that has a reasonably low result number, low competition. You can do this by searching online for "keyword tool". Start entering long tail keywords, example of a long tail keyword would be "how to make money online with clickbank". Find a keyword that has searches per month under the ten thousand or less, these is fairly easy to rank for quickly.
Keep an eye on the green bar inside the keyword tool search. This is your competition volume. Once you have picked a good keyword, put it as a title in your articlesbase article. Then submit! That's it really, if you have picked a good keyword, your article will be listed in Google fast!
Oh yeah, try and use a link cloaker for your affiliate links. Article directories don't like the straight affiliate link. Just look online for free link cloaker. Damn, I didn't want to tell you all that. I got carried away a bit, haha. Oh well, now you know what to do. This works for me all the time, and it is super easy that a noob like you can do it also.
